A very busy Bank Holiday weekend here in the world of Serendipity3864. Sadly this might mean I miss this year’s Dogstock; the annual Bolton festival of great music at the Dog and Partridge live music venue and generally fabulous public house (and yes, ‘Dogstock’ is a very unoriginal but forever amusing pun on ‘Woodstock’). There’s quite a scene going on in Bolton on the alternative music front, and has been for many years. I dare say it will serve as a topic for a future blog post. For those in the area, there are still plenty of bands yet to play, and plenty of beer, so get yourself down there! The full line-up is below:
If you see a certain Cami Walsh as well, say ‘Hello’ as she’s not only good company but also an excellent photographer, and will be snapping some of the acts. Also usually seen taking excellent photographs is my old college friend Darren Riley (aka Ballard), who will be actually playing the festival this year with his own brand of lo-fi Ray Davies-esque indie (well, I think so anyway), so good luck with that. He’s on at 6:20pm (Sunday 25th May).
The photos of me below are courtesy of Darren from last year’s event. His candid portraits are as good as his music!
